Khowai River Waterkeeper celebrated the ‘Bengali New Year 1423’

Khowai River Waterkeeper celebrated the ‘Bengali New Year 1423’ in a befitting manner. A citizen chain and a rally were jointly organized by Khowai River Waterkeeper and Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), Habiganj chapter on April 14, 2016. ‘Create a livable world for all; protect the environment and save rivers from any kind of encroachment and pollution’ was the theme of this year’s programs. The organizers had arranged these programs on the first day of the Bengali New Year, from where they conveyed their greetings to the citizens and emphasized on the environmental protection movement.

The organizers arranged a citizen chain at 9:00 am at Shirishtola on April 14 in demand of the protection for rivers and wetlands of Habiganj from all types of encroachments and pollution. People of all sectors joined the rally and expressed their solidarity with the program.
