On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Dhoritri Rakhhay Amra (DHORA), Waterkeepers Bangladesh, and Equity BD organized bicycle rallies in Bangladesh to demand “G-7 Leadership, Pay Climate Finance as Promised and Pay Now”. Bicycle rallies were conducted in four coastal districts of Bangladesh affected by climate change, advocating for the immediate fulfillment of financial promises made by the Western world. Bicycle rallies were held simultaneously in Pekua of Cox’s Bazar District, Pathorghata of Barguna District, Mongla of Bagerhat District, and Kalapara of Patuakhali District.
The Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) coordinated the actions across Asian countries.
