On 18th May 2023, Thursday, at 11 AM in front of the Bangladesh National Museum, Equity BD, Youth Net for Climate Justice, BELA, BROTEE, CLEAN, 350.org, Global Law Thinkers Society, Waterkeepers Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Farmers Federation jointly organized a human chain and mime show together with other Asian countries to protest against the expansion of fossil fuel investment in the upcoming G7 conference.
Along with Bangladesh, the “Don’t Gas Asia Campaign” also took place in Tokyo, Manila, Incheon, Mandaluyong, Jakarta, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Lahore, and Karachi to stop this terrible expansion of fossil fuels. The Asia-wide gathering was organized by Asia Energy Network and Asian People’s Movement for Debt and Development (APMDD). In the program, the members of Dhaka University Mime Action performed public awareness mimes on the effects of fossil fuels.
