More than two hundred women who led the movement to protect three hundred acres of land from being filled with dredging sand were awarded accolades by Waterkeepers Bangladesh and Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) on March 8, 2024, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024. The program was presided over by the Member Secretary of Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) and the Coordinator of Waterkepeers Bangladesh, Sharif Jamil presided over the program where the Member of Parliament Gloria Jharna Sarkar was the chief guest. Many other people belonging different organizations appeared in this program.
