Sharif Jamil, Coordinator of Waterkeepers Bangladesh and Member of the Board of Directors and Council Board at Waterkeeper Alliance visited Bangkok, Thailand from October 1 to October 5, 2025, and attended different events and activities organized by Asian Peoples Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) during the Bangkok Climate Week 2025.
On October 1, 2025, he attended the Strategy Meeting on “Strategic Global South-China Dialogue for Green Futures” jointly organized by Asian Peoples Movement for Debt and Development (APMDD), People of Asia for Climate Solutions (PACS) and Renewables First.
On October 2, 2025, he attended the meeting of “Asia-Africa Parliamentary Media Forum” organized by Forum Correspondents’ Club of Thailand (FCCT) and delivered speech during the press conference of the “Parliamentarians for a Fossil-Free Future” along with the parliamentarians and CSO leaders from Uganda, Nepal, Pakistan, The Philippines and Indonesia.
He also attended the Asia-Africa Seminar for Parliamentarians on Renewable Energy, a hybrid gathering combining plenaries, breakout sessions, peer learning exchanges, and strategy dialogues held from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5, 2025, jointly organized by APMDD and the Parliamentarians for a Fossil-Free Future and moderated a session.
These Bangkok Climate Week 2025 events were considered as flagship activities on Renewable energy in pursuit of the 3-to-5-year Goals and timely and strategic opportunity to convene parliamentarians from both continents.
