A daylong training workshop titled “Developing Local Leadership for Coastal Environment Conservation and Development” was organized by Dhoritri Rokhhay Amra (DHORA) and the Waterkeepers Bangladesh on August 21, 2025, at the Hotel Green View International conference hall.
The workshop was attended by Sharif Jamil, Member Secretary of DHORA’s Central Committee; Tofazzal Sohel, Member Secretary of DHORA’s Sylhet-Habiganj Chapter; Delwar Hossain, Coordinator of DHORA’s Cox’s Bazar Chapter; Iqbal Faruk, Researcher at Waterkeepers Bangladesh; Dr. Azmeri Begum, Convener of DHORA’s Barguna Chapter; Mushfiq Arif, Member Secretary; DHORA’s Barguna Chapter; Mostaq Ahmed, Member; Arifur Rahman, Coordinator of DHORA’s Taltoli Chapter; and Shafiqul Islam Khokon, Coordinator of the Patharghata Chapter, among others.
Local representatives from coastal areas of Barguna, as well as fishermen and farmer community leaders, also participated in the workshop.
