COP30: on 18 November 2025 at Belem, Brazil, a demonstration was held demanding climate finance for a fast and fair transition away from fossil fuels. Protesters gathered to demand that financial institutions and world leaders stop funding fossil fuels, expedite a fair switch to renewable energy, and offer climate finance for loss and damage, particularly for vulnerable populations. Activists from small island states, Asia, Latin America, and Africa participated in the protest. The Climate Action Network (CAN) coordinated the demonstration, with Fridays for Future, Oilwatch, and other international organizations. Sharif Jamil, Coordinator, Waterkeepers Bangladesh participated the event and said we will be demanding adequate and meaningful climate finance since it is met!!
