November 15, 2025, the March by the Brazilian People’s Summit in Belém led the “Global Day of Action for Climate Justice” attended by about 70 thousand people. Sharif Jamil, Coordinator, Waterkeepers Bangladesh represented the global movement in the lead banner as the member of APMDD to the COP 30 in Belém.
Sharif said, “when state parties fail to do what is necessary for the frontline communities and planet, people must unite. We all should be expressing our deep concern about ongoing fruitless endeavors. Sometimes we see they are rather harmful for the people and the planet on the contrary”.
DHORA and Waterkeepers Bangladesh also observed the “Global Day of Action for Climate Justice” in 13 places of Bangladesh. The places are: Barguna Sadar, Dhaka, Habiganj, Jamalpur, Kalapara, Kutubdia, Moheshkhali, Mongla, Pabna, Pathorghata, Pekuya, Sylhet & Taltoli.
Thousands of people in Belém and people across the globe from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe took part to global action to the leaderships in COP to understand that they should come up with meaningful and adequate climate finance along with fossil fuels phasing out plans and other measures to keep global temperature rising below 1.5 degree Celsius.
