Restoration of the Old Khowai and the Industrial Pollution in Habiganj, A consultation meeting by Khowai River Waterkeeper to observe the ‘Earth Day 2016
Khowai River Waterkeeper and Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) jointly organized a consultation meeting entitled ‘Restoration of the Old Khowai and the Industrial Pollution of Habiganj’on April 22, 2016 to observe the ‘Earth Day 2016’. Professor, Md. Ikramul Wadud, the President, BAPA Habiganj chapter presided over the meeting. Sharif Jamil, the Coordinator, Waterkeepers Bangladesh and Joint Secretary, BAPA; Professor Md. Abidur Rahman, Vice-President, BAPA Habiganj; Advocate Mansur Uddin Ahmed Iqbal, Founder President, Habiganj Pressclub, Abdul Karim Kim, Surma River Waterkeeper and General Secretary, BAPA Sylhet and Advocate Shah Shaheda Akhtar, Regional Coordinor of BELA, Sylhet were present in the meeting. The meeting started with a multimedia presentation on the Old Khowai and the Industrial pollution in Habiganj by Tofazzal Sohel, Khowai River Waterkeeper and the General Secretary, BAPA Habiganj.
