Waterkeepers Bangladesh consortium organized the seventh River Talkie as part of the Anti-pollution advocacy process at Bosila by the riverside of Buriganga on 25 July 2022. The topic of the seventh River Talkie was “Health Impacts of River Pollution”. Guest speakers of the river talkie were Dr. Abu Muhammad Zakir Hussain, Former Regional Advisor, Environmental Health & Climate Change, South-East Asian Regional Office of WHO; Professor Hasnat M Alamgir, Chairman, Department of Public Health, American International University Bangladesh; Ms. Mandira Guha Neogi, Project Manager- Policy & Food Systems at Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN); and Shahinoor Akter, Service Promoter, Satellite Clinic, Nari Moitri. Speakers of the river talkie stressed the importance of a clean river for a healthy population and called for concerted efforts by all stakeholders. The show was broadcast live through Waterkeepers Bangladesh’s official Facebook page and Nodi TV.
