- Description of the event
The event with the title “We want implementation of the election pledge on environmental conservation by the elected representatives” was held under the joint initiative of Waterkeepers Bangladesh and organizations under Buriganga River Coalition. Activities include civic gatherings, Mime Show, discussions, sharing of key messages, protests, rallies, distribution of leaflets, T-Shirts, umbrellas etc. Leaders of co-hosting organizations Nirapod Development Foundation, Sochetan Nagorik Samajik Sangathon, Sundarban O Upakul Surokkha Andolon, Nirapod Chikitsa Chai, Banolota Nari Unnayan Songstha, Shishuder Mukto Bayu Sebon Sangtha etc 30 January 2023 at Kholamora Ghat, Buriganga riverbank. Syed Taposh, Project Coordinator of Waterkeepers Bangladesh conducted the entire program. The participants of the rally were enchanted with different environmental pollution protection related slogans and were holding placards. T-shirts were distributed among the rally participants. At the end of rally, the boatmen were given umbrella. During the rally, the pedestrians were distributed leaflets.
